The impact you'll make

Oversees the planning and controls the flow of materials, products, services and related systems information from point of origin to point of delivery. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to supply chain services, inventory control, or critical parts availability, material handling, import-export licensing, third-party warehousing and shipping/receiving activities. Develops and implements logistics plans, budgets, and procedures to maximize compliance with customer needs within budget constraints. Provides financial reporting and reconciliation of inventories. Exhibits thorough understanding of international Letters of Credit and other forms of banking documents and international shipments. Interacts with vendors and peers in Manufacturing, Sales, Finance, and Product Development personnel to optimize systems and procedures. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

What you'll do

  • Lead inbound and outbound logistics, including freight management, shipment execution, and delivery performance.
  • Oversee warehouse operations, including material handling, storage, picking, packing, and shipping activities.
  • Ensure accurate inventory control, material traceability, and timely availability of critical parts to support production.
  • Manage reverse logistics processes, including returns, repairs, and refurbishment Manage domestic and international transportation, including air, ocean, and ground freight.
  • Ensure proper shipment documentation, customs clearance, and adherence to incoterms (e.g., FCA, EXW).
  • Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers to ensure on-time delivery and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, customs requirements, and Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) policies where applicable.
  • Oversee documentation accuracy, including shipping records, declarations, and regulatory filings.
  • Partner with global trade compliance teams to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to international trade laws.
  • Drive warehouse performance through standardized processes, SOP enforcement, and 5S/6S practices.
  • Monitor and optimize inventory levels, storage capacity, and warehouse layout to support operational efficiency.
  • Ensure safe handling of materials, including hazardous goods and specialized equipment.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance logistics efficiency, reduce cycle time, and lower cost.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies, data analysis, and KPI tracking.
  • Develop and standardize logistics procedures across inbound, outbound, and warehouse operations.
  • Manage logistics service providers, including performance tracking, contract management, and escalation handling.
  • Act as the primary interface between logistics, manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to align priorities.
  • Support supplier and customer requirements related to delivery, packaging, and logistics performance.
  • Define and track logistics KPIs (on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, freight cost, cycle time, etc.).
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to leadership to support decision-making and operational planning.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for logistics-related issues (e.g., delays, damages, discrepancies).
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of logistics and warehouse professionals.
  • Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Who we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8-12 years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or supply chain management in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role managing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
  • Experience with import/export processes and trade compliance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in English; German is a strong plus.
Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in semiconductor, high-tech, or capital equipment manufacturing environments.
  • Lean / Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt).
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Business Central).
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS).
  • Experience managing third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and global logistics networks.
  • Strong understanding of hazardous materials handling and regulatory requirements.
What We're Offering

This position is subject to the Austrian Collective Bargaining Agreement for employees in the Metal Technology Industries in occupation group H, depending on education. A higher payment is negotiable depending on expertise and skills. The monthly salary is paid 14 times per year.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
