At LinkedIn Learning the Live Action Director is responsible for directing live action content, managing set crew operations, and collaborating with content producers and post-production on course content, marketing/promotional videos, and other live action projects as required.

Job Description
This role will be based in Graz, Austria.

At LinkedIn Learning the Live Action Director is responsible for directing live action content, managing set crew operations, and collaborating with content producers and post-production on course content, marketing/promotional videos, and other live action projects as required.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with the content producers or necessary team(s) to establish the vision and requirements for courses, marketing, and promotional content
- Participate in the pre-production of live action content, including reviewing and providing feedback on instructors' scripts and ensuring we have the necessary equipment and resources to effectively and efficiently manage the shoot
- Work with the production team to develop a production strategy for the set, lighting, camera, and other requirements for the shoot
- Direct the instructor on set, including providing positive and constructive feedback, mentoring, and coaching the instructor so he/she delivers the best possible performance and clear, instructional content
- Direct the production team on the set to ensure all aspects of the shoot represent the vision and requirements of the course
- Collaborate with the training producer and production team to document all aspects of the shoot so information can be clearly communicated to editors
- Travel to various locations to shoot footage of featured subjects
- Review course work with senior directors to improve and grow skills continually
- Directs complex, multi-camera, studio or location shoots
- Directs all the technical aspects of filming, including the 4K video cameras, sound, lighting, and shot composition while managing associated crews
- Directs all the aesthetic aspects of the filming
- Directs the instructor/talent in performance, giving correction and encouragement
- Effectively articulates performance direction to instructors with clear communication
- Perform other duties as may be assigned
Basic qualifications:
- 4+ years' experience in the video production industry
- 2+ years' experience directing shoots and managing crews
- 2+ years' experience working with 4K technology including cameras and recording devices, especially professional series cameras from Panasonic, Sony, and Canon
- Business fluency in Spanish & in English
- Expert discernment for balancing ISO, aperture, noise floor, gamma, and shutter speed to achieve professional look for each course or project
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in video, film or multimedia production
- Advanced leadership, communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills ensuring efficient and effective interaction with producers, instructors, directors, and project stakeholders
- Advanced knowledge of video lighting setups, grip gear and terminology and ability to communicate lighting needs to team members
- Ability to take ownership of a project from concept to delivery
- Ability to develop and maintain effective internal working relationships and be able to work in a collaborative setting
- Demonstrates the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues
- Strong computer skills including operating systems, troubleshooting and basic networking knowledge
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on attention to detail
- Applied experience of video formats and encoding tools
- Expert project management on multiple ongoing projects
- Experience using professional 4K video cameras
- Experience using Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Media Encoder
- Experience in a professional, fast paced, production environment
- Experience with color management tools
- Advanced knowledge of production through post workflow, including Adobe Premiere Pro for editing, green screen keying and current color tools
