Organisational Unit
The Institute of Construction Management and Economics at Graz University of Technology is a centre of expertise in construction operations, economics and management. We combine interdisciplinary, practice-oriented teaching with fundamental and applied research, focusing on digitalisation, process optimisation, lean management and construction content management. In close collaboration with industry, public institutions, and international research partners, we actively shape the future of construction.
- Substantial involvement in courses offered by the Institute of Construction Management and Economics within the Bachelor's degree programme in Civil Engineering Sciences and Construction Management as well as within the Master's degree programme in Construction Management, Civil Engineering
- Independent design, delivery and continuous development of courses in the Master's degree programme in Construction Management in Civil Engineering
- Supervision of Bachelor's and Master's projects as well as Master's theses
- Participation in research activities focusing on sustainability and digitalisation in the fields of construction operations, construction economics, construction management and real estate management
- Assumption of administrative tasks (e.g. Conferences) and participation in general departmental and university-related responsibilities
- Completion of a doctoral/Ph.D. degree relevant to the position (e.g. Civil Engineering Sciences or Construction Management and Civil Engineering); the position is primarily focused on teaching
- Three years of teaching experience is required (preferrably in higher education, credited by evaluation results)
- Excellent command of German at C1 level, as all courses offered by the Institute are taught in German
- Sound knowledge of construction operations, construction economics and construction management
- Strong interest in teaching within the interdisciplinary field of Construction Management and Civil Engineering, as well as in conveying theoretical content through a practice-oriented approach
- Didactic skills appropriate to the position and the delivery of high-quality teaching at Bachelor's and Master's level, combined with a willingness to engage in continuous professional development in university teaching
- Knowledge of Austrian building standards
- An open and approachable manner, together with strong communication and teamwork skills
- English language skills appropriate for teaching and research
