The following position is available at the Institute for Jazz and Improvised Music (JIM) starting October 1, 2026:

Senior Lecturer in Jazz Singing (f/m/d)
20 hours per week, equivalent to 11 teaching hours (50% of full-time employment)

  • Outstanding artistic qualifications in jazz singing
  • International concert experience
  • Outstanding pedagogical and didactic aptitude
  • A relevant domestic or equivalent foreign university degree (completed artistic-pedagogical studies)

Role & Responsibilities

  • You will supervise your own students in the central artistic subject, artistic major subject, and jazz singing profile subject in the artistic and artistic-pedagogical bachelor's and master's programs, as well as in teacher training programs and, if applicable, other relevant supplementary subjects such as subject didactics, teaching practice in jazz singing, jazz ensembles, jazz choir, and jazz improvisation.
  • You are required to participate in academic self-administration.
Contact & general information

  • Scope of employment: 20 hours per week, corresponding to 11 teaching hours (50% of full-time employment)
  • The minimum gross salary based on 11 teaching hours per month is at least €2503.20 per month. The position is classified in salary group C+ (corresponding to function career LD 9 of the Upper Austrian Salary Act 2001).
  • Procedure in accordance with § 27 of our statutes
