The following position is available at the Institute for Early Music (ALT) starting March 1, 2027:

Senior Lecturer in Historical Oboes (w/m/d)
20 hours per week, equivalent to 11 teaching hours (50% of full-time employment)

Requirements

Employment Requirements
  • Outstanding artistic and artistic-pedagogical qualifications on historical oboes
  • International concert experience
  • A completed domestic or equivalent foreign university degree relevant to the position (completed degree in music performance or music education)
  • In-depth knowledge of historical performance practice
  • Pedagogical and didactic aptitude for excellent university-level teaching
  • Willingness to collaborate and work as part of a team
  • Regular attendance at the Anton Bruckner University
Desired Qualifications

  • Proficiency in German (at least C1)

Role & Responsibilities

  • You will lead a class for historical oboes as part of the artistic and artistic-pedagogical training in the bachelor's and master's programs, as well as supervise related supplementary courses, particularly ensemble and chamber music
  • You are required to participate in academic self-governance
Contact & general information

  • Hours of employment: 20 hours per week, equivalent to 11 teaching hours (50% of full-time employment)
  • The salary, based on 11 teaching hours per week, is at least €2,585.80 gross per month (depending on prior service). The position is classified in salary group C+ (corresponding to career track LD 9 of the Upper Austrian Salary Act of 2001 ).
  • Procedure in accordance with §27 of our bylaws:
    • Preliminary selection by a hiring committee
