As a Chemical Engineer / Process Chemist (m/f/d), you will support our production team with your technical and chemical expertise, driving product and process improvements. You will ensure smooth scale-up into large-scale manufacturing and serve as a competent, service-oriented interface for internal and external stakeholders.

For the Linz location, compensation is based on the collective agreement of the Austrian chemical industry. For this position, we offer attractive remuneration commensurate with your qualifications and experience (statutory minimum according to the collective agreement of the Austrian chemical industry: €59,781.96 gross per year on a full-time basis). As a Chemical Engineer / Process Chemist (m/f/d), you will support our production team with your technical and chemical expertise, driving product and process improvements. You will ensure smooth scale-up into large-scale manufacturing and serve as a competent, service-oriented interface for internal and external stakeholders.
A Day in the Life
- Develop and transfer new products, formulations and processes from laboratory or pilot scale into commercial manufacturing.
- Support production in increasing process robustness and stability, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Drive process optimizations of existing manufacturing processes.
- Prepare cGMP-compliant process documentation and regulatory submission documents for new equipment and processes.
- Contribute to cost estimations and business case evaluations for new products.
- Develop and implement innovative process strategies to enhance production efficiency and reduce manufacturing costs.
- Plan, design and evaluate experiments to verify feasibility, scalability and robustness of new processes.
- Analyze process data using statistical tools to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead or support risk assessments (e.g., FMEA, HAZOP) during process development and scale-up.
- Collaborate in cross-functional R&D projects for the development of new products, synthetic routes and technologies.
- Evaluate and implement new raw materials, alternative suppliers and process technologies.
- Support technology transfer activities across the global manufacturing network.
- Utilize modern software tools for process simulation, modeling and optimization.
- Drive process intensification and continuous manufacturing initiatives where applicable.
- Participate in troubleshooting complex chemical synthesis challenges and propose innovative technical solutions.
- University degree (PhD preferred) in Chemical Engineering, Technical Chemistry, or Organic Chemistry.
- Initial experience in the pharmaceutical industry and knowledge of GMP requirements is advantageous.
- Strong technical and scientific understanding of chemical processes.
- Experience in continuous process development is an advantage.
- Familiarity with process analytical technologies (PAT) is a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Excel; experience with statistical software is beneficial.
- Good German and English skills.
- Strong team player with excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Structured and systematic working style with strong analytical thinking.
