Die Lehrveranstaltung wird im 1. Semester des Masterstudiengangs der Studienrichtung "Exhibition Design" angeboten.
Die Lehrveranstaltung vermittelt Grundlagen der Kommunikation im Raum mit Fokus auf Informationsvermittlung, Lesbarkeit und Wahrnehmung. Studierende setzen sich mit Text und Grafik als zentrale Mittel räumlicher Kommunikation auseinander und nutzen die Wandabwicklung als Gestaltungstool zur Planung räumlicher Informationsträger. Weitere Schwerpunkte sind Prinzipien der Datenvisualisierung im Ausstellungraum sowie die Entwicklung von Orientierungssystemen und Leitsystemen für Innen- und Außenräume.
Die Teilnehmenden der Lehrveranstaltung erwerben die Fähigkeit, kommunikative Anforderungen und räumliche Informationsbedarfe zu analysieren, Text-, Grafik- und Datenvisualisierungen im Raumkontext zu gestalten und anzuwenden. Zudem entwickeln sie Orientierungssysteme unter Berücksichtigung von Nutzer:innenführung und Barrierefreiheit und erstellen Wandabwicklungen zur Visualisierung und Planung räumlicher Kommunikationsmittel.
Anforderungen:
Gesucht wird eine Person mit einschlägiger akademischer Ausbildung und beruflicher Erfahrung in den Bereichen Kommunikationsdesign sowie Leit- bzw. Orientierungssystemen. Im Portfolio sollten Tätigkeiten in den zitierten Bereichen vorliegen. Referenzen in der Hochschullehre sind ebenfalls erwünscht.

Unterrichtssprache: Deutsch, bei Bedarf auch Englisch

Course Description:
This course is offered in the first semester of the master's degree program in the "Exhibition Design" specialization.
The course teaches the basics of communication in space with a focus on information transfer, legibility, and perception. Students examine text and graphics as central means of spatial communication and use wall development as a design tool for planning spatial information carriers. Other focal points include principles of data visualization in exhibition spaces and the development of orientation and guidance systems for indoor and outdoor spaces.
Participants acquire the ability to analyze communicative requirements and spatial information needs, and to design and apply text, graphic, and data visualizations in a spatial context. In addition, they develop orientation systems taking into account user guidance and accessibility, and create wall developments for the visualization and planning of spatial communication media.
Requirements:
We are seeking a candidate with relevant academic qualification and professional experience in the areas of communication design and guidance and orientation systems. Their portfolio should include activities in the areas mentioned. References in university teaching are also desirable.
Extent: 1 semester hour per week (SWS)
Language of instruction: German, English if necessary
