Are you a recent Bachelor or Master graduate ready to elevate your career? Newrest Austria is looking for enthusiastic graduates to join our Trainee Program in the Field Railway Operations with the expectation and goal to move abroad.

In Austria, Newrest works on behalf of ÖBB on the night trains - the ÖBB Nightjets - and takes care of the service and operational processes on board. The aim of the Graduate Program is to offer young talents an experience within the Group to acquire the skills they need to become managers abroad. Since the launch of this program in 2014, more than 80% of the graduates are now participating in a management position and have joined the Newrest adventure.

Onboarding:
  • Basic training and introduction to the company structure
  • Cross-departmental collaboration and networking
  • Independent assumption of responsibilities and tasks
Responsibilities:
  • Understand and apply collective agreements and labor laws in the DACH region
  • Conduct analyses of workload distribution and prepare reports
  • Contribute to the development of the new planning tool
  • Analyze various KPIs and performance metrics
  • Prepare duty rosters and review time tracking data
  • Implement economic changes and improvements in planning processes
  • Participate in various meetings and document outcomes
  • Assist in the design and optimization of processes
Requirements:
  • Relocation within the group after 1 year is mandatory
  • Bachelor's or master's degree is required
  • Background in business, human resources and/or logistics is an advantage
  • Positive and open demeanor
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Proven communication and negotiation skills
  • Organized and structured approach to work
  • Interest in change and digitalization
  • Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel
  • Basic knowledge of labor laws and collective agreements (advantageous)
  • Excellent German and English skills, both written and spoken

The salary for this position is EUR 2,739.63 gross per month based on 38.5 hours/week plus diverse allowances.
