Rail Cargo Austria AG is driving forward the digitalization of the industry in Europe with the CARGO 1492 project and the MIKE logistics platform. The aim is to create a holistic and uncomplicated logistics solution from customers to the respective service providers. In this way, we are making an important contribution to the transport transition and to achieving climate goals.  

For this purpose, the Cross Coordination Department at Rail Cargo Austria AG is looking for a part-time Data Steward (m/w/x).  

Your Job

  • Oversee the implementation of the company’s data governance policy to maintain data accuracy, consistency, and compliance. 
  • Define, monitor, and enforce data quality standards and procedures. 
  • Identify and collaborate with data owners, analysts, and other stakeholders to align data governance practices with business objectives. 
  • Document and maintain metadata, data dictionaries, and data lineage to improve data transparency and usability. 
  • Identify and resolve data-related issues in collaboration with IT and business teams. 
  • Conduct training sessions and provide guidance to employees on data governance practices and policies. 
  • Regularly review and update data governance frameworks to meet evolving regulatory and organizational requirements. 

Your Profile 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience in data stewardship, data governance, or a related role. 
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, policies, and tools. 
  • Familiarity with data management platforms and technologies (e.g., Informatica, or similar tools). 
  • Certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) are a plus. 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to drive organizational buy-in for governance initiatives. 
    Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities. 
  • You have good English and German skills.

  • A minimum salary of € 53.696,16 gross/year is provided for the position “Senior Spezialist:in Datenmgmt. & Data Gov.” (according to the collective rail company agreement).  Depending on qualifications and professional experience, the salary can be above the collective agreement level, starting at € 60.000 gross/year full time (38,5 hours).
